Kicking off 2021 in true CPA style

Our annual winter party took place on Sunday, January 31st and this year it was a virtual event.

Lots of happy faces online and an amazing turnout of 57 connections meaning we probably had about 100 people attending. Even though it has been a tough year we have achieved an awful lot.

At the party, Monica our psychotherapist gave us some hints and tips on how to look after ourselves during lockdown and how important it is to make time for ourselves even micro-moments help us as individuals. Dr Suzanne Timmons gave us guidance on Covid 19 and the types of vaccines that are available as well as the cutting-edge research into Parkinson’s that CPA are involved in with UCC/CUH/MTU. Ted Horgan presented slides from Dr Sean O’Sullivan and Prof Luke O’Neill about how to cope with COVID 19 and Parkinson’s.

Apart from general fun, singing, quizzes and stories we have launched our ‘corkparkinsons’ website. This has been designed with the specific needs of people with Parkinson’s in mind. You will find up to date information on events and activities happening in county Cork to support People with Parkinson’s. Take a trip around www.corkparkinsons.ie tell your friends and visit as often as you like – no lockdown restrictions here!
