The WIDE-AWAKE Club – starts again in September!

As we know all too well, sleep and night-time problems are common in Parkinson’s leaving you feeling tired and drowsy. We can be more prone to insomnia because of symptoms, such as tremor, stiffness, pain and restless legs syndrome, that can disturb sleep.

Parkinson’s medication can cause excessive daytime sleepiness or sudden onset of sleep. This can be severe for some people and excessive feelings of sleepiness during the day can also happen if you aren’t sleeping well at night. The affect can cause some people to doze off during normal waking hours. The Wide-Awake club is a fortnightly meeting for anyone experiencing sleep issues, this may be the person with Parkinson’s but can equally be the partner/carer who is constantly being disturbed by your restlessness.

This is the last one of the season before we break for summer. The call is open to everyone, not just PwP, so join us and help us plan how we want to take this forward.
