‘Patients Deserve Better’ November Campaign

  • The ‘Patients Deserve Better’ campaign is seeking investment to tackle the serious shortage of nurse specialists in neurology in Cork.
  • Based on local and international recommendations, Cork University Hospital needs 20 nurse specialists in neurology. The hospital has just four; a shortfall of 16 nurse specialists caring for people in Cork and surrounding counties. 
  • Nationally, there is a shortfall of over 100 nurse specialists in neurology in the Irish healthcare system.
  • Most importantly, patients, families and supporting organisations can take action and make their voices heard by contacting their TDs. They can do this by visiting https://www.patientsdeservebetter.ie/take-action-cork/ and following the steps on the website.
