National Volunteer of the Year Award 2022

Tony Wilkinson won the West Cork Volunteer of the Year award for 2022. Tony said it was a very humbling experience to be nominated by members for this award which allows us to promote and raise awareness of Parkinson’s in the community.

These boards caught the eye of the national judge who was extremely impressed with the activity of a local group and asked that we bring the display to Dublin for the National awards.

Tony has been selected for the National award in the Health and Wellbeing category which will be held in Dublin on December 2nd. Tony recognises all the help and support he gets from CPA members, whether it is for campaigning for specialist nurses, climbing on board the Rebel express to demonstrate outside the Dail or participating in surveys and vitally important research. He said, “this award is for all of us as none of it could be done by one person”. The judges were impressed that a local group had such passion and drive and such a clear vision of where they want to take Parkinson’s.

This is the beautiful, handcrafted award for the West Cork Volunteer of the Year 2022.
