Hard work pays off with a big win for CH04!

There was an announcement this week that CH04 (Cork/Kerry) will get the neurorehabilitation team, based in CUH, that we have been asking for. You will remember this was first promised in 2019 but never arrived.

Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, meeting CPA members in Leinster House

NAI recognise that CPA members did Trojan work to drive the message of our need for a neurorehabilitation team in CUH. Thank you to everyone who took the time to canvass your local TD whether in person or through the survey link. Additionally, we thank the people who physically travelled to Dublin to meet the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, and those who spoke in the AV room. Without the drive and leadership of those involved we would not have been successful.

What next for Cork University Hospital?

We are still waiting to get confirmation of the additional Neuro nurses for CUH from last year’s budget and expect to hear soon but we hear the ‘mood music’ is positive.
